Pre-Installation Tips

We understand that you may have a few questions regarding what to expect during a flooring installation, so we have designed this page to help guide you through the process. We recommend reading this thoroughly before the installation so that you are well prepared. Please be sure to ask any questions regarding the products, warranty, and returns before placing your order and beginning the installation process.

Please keep in mind, there will be lots’ of dust, I mean, we are tearing a part of your home/office out. Things will get messy. This is why we strongly suggest covering, removing or cleaning out areas and items that be of value to you. If you would like us to assist you with covering these areas, please let us know ahead of time so that we can be sure to make arrangements, i.e./ buying the materials and adding this to your invoice. We also recommend turning off your heater or AC system to prevent any dust being collected in the vents. Please be sure to make arrangements you’re your pets and children to be out of the area.

There will be lots of tools and building materials around as we complete the remodel and the last thing that we would want is for either your beloved pet or children to be injured during the work. We understand that this is your home or office; however, during this remodel it becomes a small jobsite. With that being said, please remove your furniture if possible. Keep in mind, we are professionals when it comes to your flooring needs, however, we do not specialize in moving furniture. If you would like us to make arrangements to move the furniture for you, please let us know AHEAD of time. These items may be heavy and since we do not specialize in this we will need to add a small fee for the moving process to your invoice. Most importantly, we are not help responsible for any items you decide to leave out or in our hands during the installation.
Another topic we wanted to include is prepping your floors! If you have had any water or moisture damage we need to know this immediately. Without us being made aware of such issues, we cannot prevent future issues regarding any moisture and warranty voids. This is VERY important! Also, please keep in mind that the line on your estimate that reads, “floor prep. This is written on the estimate and is unfortunately the only item that we cannot price until after we have pulled up your existing floors. Some customers only use a bag or two and some customers may need 50 bags. We do not want to increase the price of your installation by any means, but we do want your floors to be even and look perfect. Please know that we will only use what is needed.
 
We have taken the time to set up these reminders for you so that we can ensure a smooth installation. If you can be sure to read these over and proactively protect your items, we can take of the rest for you without a problem. Congratulations on your new floors!
